Jack Wichelmann

Jack C. Wichelmann, age 87, of Davenport, passed away on March 26, 2024, at Bickford Cottage, Davenport. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park at a later date. Memorials may be made to Davenport Assumption High School or your favorite charity. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries assisted the family with arrangements.

Jack was born on February 4, 1937, in Davenport to Walter and Ethel (Cavey) Wichelmann. Graduated from St. Ambrose Academy and St. Ambrose University. Jack served in the U.S. Army.  Jack married Denise Dauw on April 29, 1967, in Moline.

Jack worked as an independent insurance agent, with Chartered Life Underwriting (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. He was past president of the Quad City CLU Chapter.   In addition to church, Jack was a member of the Rotary Club, the Knights of Columbus, and a lifelong member of the YMCA.   He enjoyed sports, especially watching his favorite golfers, also enjoyed watching Assumption Knights, Hawkeyes, Notre Dame, Bears, and Cubs. He also loved to attend his kids and grandkids events.

Survivors include his wife, Denise; daughter, Diane (Patrick) Roddy of Woodridge, IL; son, John (Kim) Wichelmann of Davenport; grandchildren, Joshua, James, Emily, and Justin.
