Herbert J. Klauer

 Herbert J. “Herb” Klauer, 83, a resident of Davenport, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at his home.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport is assisting the family with arrangements.

Herb was born May 12, 1939 in Bettendorf, the son of Edwin and Loretta (Hamerlinck) Klauer. He was a 1957 graduate of St. Ambrose Academy. Herb worked for International Harvester.

Herb enjoyed gardening, canning, walking in the park, going on Sunday drives, and playing license plate acronym games. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing.

Those left to honor his memory include a special daughter, Cami Torres of Davenport; special granddaughter, Victoria Torres; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, including Tandom Klauer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Marie Epping, Doris Hintze, Paul Klauer, and Jim Klauer.
