Helen Louise (Willich) Schumacher Joiner, 88, of Davenport, passed away, Sunday, April 13, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the International Ministries at First Baptist Church.
Helen was born on November 12, 1936 in Powhatten, Kansas to Edwin and Norma (Merz) Willich. She was united in marriage to Harry Delbert Schumacher on November 19, 1954 in Buffalo. They later divorced. She was then united in marriage to Roscoe W. Joiner on June 27, 1981. He preceded her in death.
Helen was a member of First Baptist Church, Davenport, Chapter 178 of the Eastern Star, over 30 years of Bend of the River Charter Chapter of America Business Women’s Association, American Baptist Women’s Ministries and Red Hat Society. She owned and operated Del-Rich Loan Company with her very good friend and partner Dottie Porter for over 50 years. Above all she loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. She will be deeply missed.
Those left to honor her memory include her children Timothy Delbert Schumacher, Michael Todd Schumacher, Debora Kaye Schumacher, all of Davenport, and special nephew David E. Stickrod, Buffalo, Iowa; stepchildren Debora (Henry) Joiner Elliott, Mystic, Iowa, Roxanne Joiner (Jerry) Mortenson, Lebanon, Illinois and Patricia (Jeff) Joiner Barnard of North Glen, Colorado; siblings Edwin L. Willich, Walcott, Iowa, Willa K. Dobbs, Plano, Iowa and Ruth A. Rothenberger, Camdenton, Missouri; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roscoe, sister Hazel Willich Stickrod-Darland, daughters Scheryl Ann Schumacher and Connie Joiner-Wendland, nephew Mark Stickrod and grandson Eric Cary.
