Harold E. “Harry” Beverlin, 70, of Davenport, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family after a brief courageous battle with lung disease. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place in Pine Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Harold was born on March 7, 1952 in Washington, Iowa, to Ernest E. and Lucille I. (Peck) Beverlin. He married Janet M. Hanna in 1974. She preceded him in death on July 19, 1990. He married Janet Keckler in 1998.
Harry lived all his adult life in Davenport. He graduated from Central High School in 1971. He raised his youngest sister Teresa, through her high school years. Harry was a member of the Local Plumbers and Pipefitter’s Union 387 of Davenport and retired from Plumbers and Pipefitter’s Union 25 of Rock Island in 2007. Harold was a master carpenter even after his vision loss. He and his wife were avid fisherman and campers. Harold tried his luck at casinos, traveled to family reunions, and enjoyed visits to children and grandchildren.
Left to share his memory and stories are his wife Janet, daughters Celina (John) Mingee of Florida, Calena Beverlin of Georgia, Justin Beverlin of Davenport, Sherry (Mark) Miller, of Davenport, Pamela Hansen of Davenport, Stephanie McPhail, of Georgia, and Angela McPhail, of Georgia, eighteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a brother, Mike Beverlin Sr. of Davenport, sisters Doreen (Steve) Gluck of Indiana and Rita McInerney (Clark Orman) of Ottumwa.
Harold was preceded in death by parents, grandparents, first wife, Janet, infant sister Carol, sister Teresa Sparks, brothers Terry and Dale, and a grandson, Tredale Summage. May they rest in peace.
