Hallie M. McNamara, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2022 surrounded by her five children.
Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 4th at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Endowment Fund.
Hallie was born on November 2, 1936 in Davenport to Arthur Reyburn III and Mary Lucille Kahman Perry. She was the youngest of four children, affectionately known as Chicksie. Hallie graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy in Davenport and attended Fontbonne University, St. Louis, Missouri.
Hallie met James J. McNamara, the love of her life, in Davenport, Iowa. They were married September 13, 1958. He preceded her in death, December 10, 2005. Hallie worked at the family business, McNamara’s Look Sharp Drycleaners. She was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital, Davenport. Hallie attended daily mass, enjoyed walking at Northpark Mall, played cards and was in a bridge club.
Hallie’s life was guided by her Catholic faith. She was an active member at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was a communion aide and was an active member of the Emmaus group and the PTA.
Hallie is survived by her five children, James McNamara, Jr., Splendora, Texas, Ann McNamara, Peoria, Illinois, Lisa (Javier Rodriguez) McNamara, Chicago, Illinois, Karen (David) Weaver, Davenport and Michael (Julie) McNamara, LaGrange, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Amanda McGovern, Kaytee (William) Jenkins, Amber and Tayler McNamara, Hallie and Jennifer Weaver and Cassius, Caden and Aracely McNamara; three great-grandchildren, Keegan, Ainsley, and Kinlee; sister, Mary Lu Soto; and sister-in-law, Suzanne Perry.
In addition to her husband, Hallie is joined in Heaven by her parents; and brothers, Arthur and Richard Perry. May they rest in peace.
Hallie will be remembered as a remarkable woman who was always so kind to everyone. She loved her children, grandchildren, friends and her faith.
