Guadalupe “Lupe” Pena, 84, a resident of Davenport, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at his home. Per his wishes, the rite of cremation was accorded and there will be no services. Memorials may be made to Kings Harvest No Kill Pet Shelter. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Lupe was born December 1, 1935 in Roscoe, Texas, a son of Eladio and Leonor (Olvera) Pena. Lupe served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from International Harvester, Rock Island, in 1990. He was married to Jeannine Calvert and later to Mary Ann Sterling.
Lupe was an animal lover and enjoyed playing pool.
Those left to honor Lupe’s memory include his children: Monica (Michael) Hawn, Naples Florida; Ricardo (Anne Garcia) Pena, Davenport and Nichole McAllister, Wilton, Iowa; grandchildren: Sasha Lauren Chavez, Niles Pena, Chyna Rose Pena, Christopher Angelo, Stephanie Angelo, Jack Austin Gwin, Dean Gwin, Makinzie Harker and Harper Frank; great-grandchildren: Tyler Tallant, Gabriel Chaves, Catrina Pena, and Nevaeh Pena; siblings: Jesse Pena, Davenport and Fransico (Rose Ann) Pena, Silvis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Ramona Pena-Calvert Gwin and siblings: Lyle Pena, Linda Garcia, Jose Pena, Genaro Pena, Alvino Pena.
