Greg A. Wikle

Greg A. Wikle, 64, of Davenport, passed away, Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Genesis East Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or memorials, donations may be made to the Salvation Army as Greg contributed much effort to this organization.

Greg was born on September 21, 1960 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, son of Keith Wikle and Sylvia Boe. 

Greg was a veteran of the United States Army and was a crew chief during his time in Germany. In his younger years he was a state tournament wrestler for Bettendorf High School. As the owner of a small business, Discount Tool Store, in East Moline he was known as kind and friendly. Greg was the kind of person who would do anything to help another and was a friend of Bill W. Above all he loved his children and cherished the time spent with them.

Those left to honor his memory include his children Dr. Justin (Dionne) Wikle, Brittney (Jeremy) Cantrell, Jacob (Courtney) Wikle, Noah Wikle, and Aaron Wikle; grandson Alden Cantrell; father Keith (Anne) Wikle; dear friend Rita Bates and her family; siblings Bob, Deb (Dick), and Julie; and step-sister Julie (Doug). 

 He was preceded in death by his mother Sylvia.
