Gracianna M. Pearl, 85, of Bettendorf, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at her home. Per her wish the rite of cremation will be accorded and Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport is assisting the family.

 

Gracianna was born August 19, 1939, in Des Moines, a daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Elliston) Jacobs Sr. She was united in marriage to Franklin E. Pearl in 1972 and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2010.

 

Gracianna earned her nursing degree from EICCD (now Scott Community College) and worked as a surgical nurse at the former Osteopathic Hospital in Davenport and for a private practice. She also worked for EICCD in the accounting department and career assistance center.

 

She hosted foreign exchange students attending SCC, including Natacha Boursiguot, Bentia Rice, and several others. She also was active in foster care for girls.

 

Gracianna enjoyed catering, church, Bible classes, shopping at estate and garage sales, and working in her community.

 

She was a member of Masquat Court 167 – Daughter – Past Comandress, American Legion, Eastern Star Adah Chapter #10 in Rock Island, IL, Elks – Elite Temple #1265, KP Hall, Iowa Nursing Association, Temple Baptist Church, and Progressive Baptist Church.

 

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter Dorothea (Michael) Cole of Bettendorf; grandchildren Anthony (Valerie) Cole of Davenport, Andrea Cole-Wofford of Dallas, TX, Andrew Cole, of North Liberty, IA, Danniell (John) McReynolds of Erie, IL, Deidre Cole, Houston, TX, Austin (Scarlett) Cole of Davenport, Brittney Cole of Davenport, Elizabeth Cole of Bettendorf; nine great grandchildren; siblings Jenette Lowery, Veronica Haywood, Steven Tate, Terri Jo Fisher; special friend Michael Hill; and many extended family members including Joy Stewart and Avery Pearl.

 

In addition to her husband Franklin, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Jacobs Jr, sister Norma Butts, and granddaughter Mary Ann Cole.
