Funeral Services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Gerard H. ”Gerry” Sharp, 60, a resident of Silvis, Illinois will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown, Davenport, where the rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. There will be additional visitation at Church prior to Mass from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Church or to the Activities Fund at Aspen Rehab. Gerry passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Aspen Rehab and Health Care, Silvis, IL.
Gerard Harold Sharp was born April 24, 1957 in Davenport, the son of Harold A. and Mary H. (Swift) Sharp. He was a 1975 graduate of Assumption High School and earned a B.A. from St. Ambrose University. He had worked in facilities management for the Davenport River Center and the Adler Theatre, retiring in 2006 due to illness. Gerry was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #716, East Moline. He enjoyed reading, traveling, movie trivia and his Dominic friends.
Survivors include his two sisters; Jean (Lou) Haas, Bettendorf and Marilyn (Steve) Urbaniak, Silvis, IL; two nieces and two nephews; three great nieces and one great nephew; and an uncle, Alfred O. (Juanita) Sharp, Moline, IL.
His parents and a sister, Karen preceded him in death.Visits: 13
