Geraldine A. "Gerrie" Spoo

Funeral services celebrating the life of Geraldine A. “Gerrie” Spoo, 78, of Davenport, will be held at 10am on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Davenport.  Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.  The family will receive friends from 9am until time of services Monday at the church.  Memorials may be made to the church.

Mrs. Spoo passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Senior Star, Davenport.  The family would like to thank the staff at Senior Star for the wonderful care given to Gerrie.

Geraldine Ann Elliott was born September 8, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, IA, a daughter of William H. and Leora E. (Chandler) Elliott.  She was united in marriage to Joseph “Joe” Spoo on September 4, 1974 at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids.

Gerrie was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband Joe; daughters Tammy (Scott) Hittie of Cedar Rapids, Lori (Robert) Swalley of Cuba City, WI, and Regina Hyde of Davenport; grandchildren Christina, Sarah, Shelby, Katrina, Ashley, Shana, Brian, Ariel, Trudy, McKayla, and Andrew; eighteen great grandchildren; sisters Mary Bernauer of Davenport, Teresa Dickson of Tama, IA, Junie Hackett of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Carl Brose, brother William Elliott, and sister Shirley McMahon.
