Gary Mascho

Gary A. Mascho, age 67, of Davenport, passed away on March 6, 2024, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Columbus Club, 1111 W. 35^th Street, Davenport. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. His final resting place will be at a later date in Friendship, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davenport House.

 Gary was born on August 30, 1956, in Cuba, NY, to Lyle and Elizabeth (Doherty) Mascho. He graduated from Friendship High School in 1974. While growing up Gary worked at Crosby Farm, Friendship Dairy, and later did pruning at a Christmas tree farm. Gary was also a volunteer with the Friendship Fire Department. He moved to Iowa in 1975 and worked with Dick Cole Insulation and later Curry Insulation. He took over the business in 1999 and re-named it Mascho Insulation and was still working until the time of his death.

 Gary was a member of the Davenport Historical Foundation and the Scott County Preservation Society. He appreciated what people did to keep up the historic value of their homes. He enjoyed his trips to Wisconsin, NASCAR, football, and baseball.

 Survivors include his son, Charlie Mascho; sister, Linda Mascho; and brother, Arthur Mascho. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a special uncle, Jim Mascho.

 Gary also gave the gift to others by being a donor.
