Gail Ann Bunge, 78, of Davenport, was called to her heavenly home on the evening of March 25, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. Inurnment will follow in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
Gail was born December 13, 1945, in Moline, and raised in Silvis, a daughter of Lawrence Joseph and Doris R. (Kurry) Harper. She graduated from Alleman High School, Class of 1964. She met her future husband Craig through a blind date, set up by mutual friends, and a year later they were married. Through this union they were blessed with three sons. Gail and Craig spent 51 beautiful and wonderful years together and were never far from each other for too long.
Prior to and after her marriage to Craig, Gail worked at the former Eagle’s Food Center warehouse in Milan, as a data entry clerk. She then decided to stay home and raise her sons until they were in junior high school. She then worked at the former Franciscan Hospital and then continued with Trinity Hospital, medical records, until her retirement in 2008.
Gail is survived by her husband Craig; sons Brett (Stacey) Bunge, Moline, Brandon Bunge, Rock Island, Byron (Melanie) Bunge, Bettendorf; grandson Chase Bunge; grandchildren through marriage Brandon Colley, Taylor Welch, Haley Woolley; sisters Lynn Haesaert, Syracuse, NY, Christine (Martin) Griffin, Port Byron; brothers- and sisters-in-law Victor Bunge, Bettendorf, Max (Janice) Bunge, Davenport, Cynthia (Marvin) Stolley, Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father- and mother-in-law Lester and Madeleine Bunge.
