Frances C. Baker, 90, a resident of Bettendorf, died Monday, February 28, 2022 at Bickford of Davenport.
Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday at church. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Frances was born December 16, 1931 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Zahoran) Chuha. On November 14, 1953 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania she married Edward C. Baker.
Frances was a 52-year member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish, where she was a member of the choir, taught CCD classes, and involved in the leadership of the Charismatic Prayer Group. She helped start the funeral choir at church under Fr. Stratman. Frances was a lay member of the Discalced Carmelites, volunteer for Mississippi Valley Blood Center, and involved in many prayer groups and rosary groups. She enjoyed her family, traveling, and was loved by everyone.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ed; children, John (Linda) Baker of Bettendorf, Kevin (Rosemary) Baker of Andalusia, Illinois, Marilyn (Rhett) Bicknell of Bettendorf, Kathy (Kenneth) Stewart of Lititz, Pennsylvania, Steven (Cathy) Baker of Elgin, Illinois, David (Katie) Baker of Jesup, Iowa, Nancie (Kyle) Benjamin of Walker, Minnesota, James (Sherry) Baker of Houston, Texas, and Annette (Thom) Seibert of Tega Cay, South Carolina; 30 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and brother, John Chuha.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Robert; grandson, Carrington; sister, Suzanna Brown; and brother, Joseph Chuha.
