Evelyn Marie Untz was born on October 28, 1931 in West Brooklyn, Illinois, a daughter of Christian and Fannie (Yocum) Untz. She was united in marriage to James W. Murrell on February 14, 1953 in Aurora, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2006.
Evelyn cherished her large family. As a mother of 12, her home was the house her kids’ friends always wanted to visit, as she loved and welcomed all children. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, which came in pretty handy with a home that was always full.
Survivors include her children and their spouses; Michael Murrell, Diane Murrell, Steven (Melissa) Murrell, David Murrell, Patrick Murrell, John Murrell, Daniel Murrell, Mary Ekstrand, Colleen Murrell, Julie (Michael) McClellan, and Thomas (Stephanie) Murrell; sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, siblings: Beverly Cummings, Michigan, and Raymond (Dorothy) Untz, Texas and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James T. Murrell,
grand-children, Amy Murrell, Steven Murrell and Tyler Ekstrand, her parents, and sisters, Delores Moake and Betty Kandel. May they rest in peace
