Evelyn Little

Evelyn R. Little, age 93, of Davenport, IA passed away on June 15, 2023 in Davenport, IA.  Visitation will be Sunday, June 25^th from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, June 26^th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

   Evelyn was born on January 3, 1930 in Eldon, IA, to Floyd and Fern (Harvey) Boyd. She graduated from Eldon High School in 1947 and came to the Quad Cities shortly after. She married Russell Little July 30, 1949.  She worked many jobs throughout her lifetime, retiring from JC Penney after 25 years.  She enjoyed attending sporting events such as Cardinals/River Bandits baseball and the Mallards/Storm Hockey games. She was an avid bird watcher and loved growing plants and flowers.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.

   Survivors include children, Marvin (Melanie Springsteen) Little of Rock Island, and Denise Little of Davenport; grandchildren, Nathan (Rachel) Little, Brad (Amanda) Little, Jessica (Alex) Lenstra, and Tyler Little; great-grandchildren, Shane, Oliver, Ellie, and Grace; and a sister-in-law, Jessie Boyd.

   In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her sons, David and Danny; sisters Audrey Reynolds and Viola Stevens and a brother, Everett Boyd.
