Eugene August Loussaert was born August 24, 1940 in Davenport, a son of August and Margaret (Murphy) Loussaert. Gene married Judy Banowetz at St. Ann’s on August 27, 1966.
He was a life-long farmer, retiring in 1995. Even after retirement, Gene always found ways of staying busy; he enjoyed tinkering, especially outdoors. He also enjoyed helping out at the Pride of the Wapsi.
Gene loved time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was never one to remain silent; he would talk with anyone, usually in his direct manner. You always knew where you stood with Gene Loussaert.
Memorials may be made to St. Ann’s, where Gene was a lifelong member and part of the building committee when the new church was built.
