Durwood L. Gilbreath

Durwood L. Gilbreath, passed away, Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus.  

 Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 4:00pm at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the King Harvest Pet Rescue or to the Scott County Humane Society.   A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. 

Dur was born on November 25, 1961 in Iowa, to Eugene and Lorraine (Seastrand) Gilbreath.   He was united in marriage to Anita Tillis on September 27, 1986.  He had been employed Hon/HNI for 18 years.  

 Dur enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and playing euchre.  He loved his friends and spending time with them weekends having a cold one. He loved a good joke and motorsports.  He also found joy in spending time with his four-legged boys, Rosco and Cletus. 

 Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Anita; in-laws Kay Heitz, Jim (Tedy) Tillis, Sharon (Pat) Mullin, and Diane (Ron) Goers; and many nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a host of good friends. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Doug and Rick, and brother-in-law Bob Heitz.
