Dorothy Mae Schricker

Dorothy Mae (Lohr) Schricker, 102, of Davenport, died peacefully, with faith and acceptance on March 26, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.

Dorothy was born September 3, 1922, in Aurora, Il, to the late Lawrence and Mae (Bauler) Lohr. She married the love of her life, Harold ‘Ding’ Schricker in 1947. She was preceded in death by Harold on January 14, 1988.

Dorothy was a graduate of Marion Catholic High School in Aurora. She had been employed as an office worker, then, was a stay-at-home mom caring for her four children. She loved playing bridge, bargain hunting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Mary (Bob) Davis of West Des Moines and Mary’s children: Jason (Noc) Flora and Ashley (Sam) Young; Lisa (Jim) Kuntz of Coplay, PA; her granddaughter Mia Schricker; her grandson Adam Schricker; her daughter-in-law Lisa Schricker; her step-grandson Robbie Boruff; her step-granddaughter Abbie Boruff. Dorothy is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband Harold, she was preceded in death by her father, mother, son David, son Steven, grandson Nathan and her sisters Geraldine and Lynn. May they rest in peace.

Dorothy would want to give special thanks to her family, friends, neighbors, nurses and caregivers who did so much for her, especially late in her life, making her most senior years comfortable and pleasant. She will be dearly missed and remembered.
