Dorothy M. Goff

Dorothy M. Goff, 91, of Davenport, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. She went to be with her husband, George.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport with the rosary prayed at the conclusion. Additional visitation will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport with the Mass of Christian Burial starting at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.

Dorothy was born in 1934 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a daughter of Alice and John Mertes. After high school she worked as a secretary in Minneapolis. In 1960, she married George Goff and shortly thereafter moved to Davenport. Dorothy worked at various companies as secretary and administrative assistant.

Dorothy enjoyed playing golf, cards, and walking at the mall with friends. 

Memorials can be made for masses to be offered for Dorothy, Our Lady of Victory Foundation, or an organization of your choice.

Those left to honor Dorothy’s memory are her sisters-in-law, Kathy Mertes, Mary Ann Belland, and Teri Raye Goff and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Bill (Joan) and Jerry, a nephew, Tim, and a niece, Shelby. May they rest in peace.
