Donna Schebler

Donna Schebler, 85, a resident of Davenport, died Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Solon Retirement Village in Solon, Iowa.

A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2022 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Handicapped Development Center.

Donna was born November 9, 1936 in Davenport, the daughter of Edwin and Jane Anderson. She married Donald V. Schebler in Davenport in 1957. He preceded her in death June 7, 1985.

Donna worked as a registered nurse for the former St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport. She always dreamed of being a nurse as a child and fulfilled that dream. Donna lived a “blessed life” with a busy family but always had an open door for family and friends. Her family was her number one priority in her life, and she was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Jeffery (Deborah) Schebler of Cedar Rapids, Lynnette (David) Eisenbacher, Laurie Nelson, Susan (Tony) Ryder, all of Davenport, Michael (Sandy) Schebler of Cedar Rapids, and Mark (Tessa) Schebler of Moline; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Hunnicutt of Denver, Colorado; and many “adopted” children.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kevin; sisters, Linda Goff and Mary Miller; brother, Leo Anderson; and son-in-law, Russell Nelson.
