Donald Michael Fennelly

Donald “Don” Fennelly, 71, of Iowa City, IA, and formerly of Davenport, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, in Iowa City. Private funeral services were held at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, and the burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.

Donald Michael Fennelly was born June 15, 1953, in Davenport, a son of Thomas J. and Esther M. (Ortiz) Fennelly. He graduated from Davenport West High School, class of 1970. He was a member of the West High basketball team that won the 1970 Iowa State Championship and was affectionately known as “Dandy Don”.

Don enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at Christmas.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Impact Program of Iowa City for taking extraordinary care of “Mike”, as well as his friend Grace from Iowa City. 

Those left to honor his memory include his mother Esther Fennelly of Davenport; siblings Sandra Inskeep of Alpha, IL, Shawn Fennelly of Las Vegas, and Kim (Bryan) Kauk, of Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by his father, brother Thomas A. Fennelly, and brother-in-law Ron Inskeep.
