Donald Blondell

Funeral Services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Donald C. Blondell, 87, a resident of Davenport, will be 10:30am Monday, October 25, 2021, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Long Grove.  Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery.  The family will greet friends from 1-4pm Sunday, October 24, 2021, at St. Ann’s Church, Long Grove.  There will be an additional visitation Monday at church from 9:30am until the time of the service.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Donald passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021, at his home.

Donald Camiel Blondell was born October 12, 1934, in Long Grove, Iowa, a son of Camiel and Marguerite (Beert) Blondell.  Donald married Beverly Ann Flaherty October 13, 1956, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport.  They have celebrated 65 years of marriage.  He served his country in the US Army from 1957 to 1959.

Donald was a farmer for many years.  He enjoyed watching the Cubs, Bears and Hawkeyes on TV, playing Aggravation, Euchre, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Those left to honor Donald’s memory include his wife Ann, Davenport; children:  Kathy (Edward) Barkalow, Atalissa, Iowa; Mike Blondell, Eldridge; Teresa Blondell, Eldridge; and Christy (Heath) Pacha, Long Grove; 9 grandchildren:  Adam, Alyssa, Lucas, Jenna, Tyler, Zeke, Grant, Carter, and Camille; 6 great-grandchildren:  Gabi, Adaline, Grayson, Maggie, Aaron, and Everly; and sister, Sharon Mazak, LeClaire.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings:  Lucille Green, Clara Speth and Gary Blondell.
