Dephonn "Keith" Elzy

Dephonn “Keith” Elzy, 66, of Davenport, died peacefully Friday, December 8, 2023 at his home.  Keeping with his wishes, cremation rites have taken place and celebration of his life will take place January 7, 2024 from 2 until 5 p.m. at Ruby's Beers, Bikes, and Brats.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Keith was born on May 30, 1957 in Pontiac, Michigan, a son of Burchard Elzy and Mary (Williams) Scott.  He graduated from Central High School in 1975 and attended the University of Iowa.  He was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi.

Keith was an executive chef at many different restaurants throughout the United States.  He was locally known for his cooking abilities and had appeared on local television.

Those left to honor his memory are his son, Dephonn Elzy, Lakeland, Tennessee; siblings: Brenda Joyce (Brian) Norment, Davenport, Kim (Horace) Gray, Akron, Ohio, Michelle Spyce, Minnesota, Dorothea Elzy, Rock Island, Sharon Gail (Lester) Atwater, Michigan, Adrian Elzy, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Hinshaw, and his parents.
