Denise Wichelmann

Denise A. Wichelmann, age 81, of Davenport, passed away on May 17, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.  A memorial mass will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 11:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park at a later date. Memorials may be made to King’s Harvest Pet Rescue, University of Iowa Palliative Care, or your favorite charity.

 Denise was born on November 5, 1942, in Moline, IL to James and M. Dorothy (Quilty) Dauw. Graduated from Alleman High School and Marycrest College. Denise married Jack Wichelmann on April 29, 1967, in Moline.  He proceeded her in death on March 26, 2024. 

 Denise was a stay-at-home mother while her kids were growing up.  She worked and retired from Talbot Stores.  Denise was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.   She enjoyed playing bridge, going out to lunch with her friends and family, doing jazzercise, watching “her shows” including the Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, anything on HGTV, and the local news programs.  Denise liked tending to her plants and landscape.  She also loved to attend all her kids and grandkids events.

 Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Patrick) Roddy of Woodridge, IL; son, John (Kim) Wichelmann of Davenport; grandchildren, Joshua, James, Emily, and Justin; and her beloved cat Dobby.
