Deborah L. Misner

Debbie Misner, 73, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024, at UnityPoint, Rock Island. A celebration of her life will be held from 10am until Noon on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Robert Young Center.

Deborah Lynn Roudebush was born March 22, 1951, in Rock Island, the daughter of Eugene and Janice Van Hecke. She was united in marriage to Gary “Dean” Misner in 1977 and he preceded her in death in 2015.

Debbie graduated from the former St. Anthony’s School of Nursing and worked at the former Franciscan Hospital, St. Anthony’s Care Center, and was a charge nurse at the Robert Young Center when she retired in 2019.

Debbie enjoyed life. She liked to take small road trips with her husband, good movies, craft shows, her standing euchre game with Pam and Shane, and most of all she enjoyed time with her grandchildren. She was so proud of each and every one of them. She also enjoyed going to Rib Fest and the St. Patrick Day parade. 

She worked 3rd shift for many years but after a long night of work she would come home and enjoy breakfast and coffee with her husband. To wind down before going to bed she would watch I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver, her favorite TV shows. And on a Saturday night if there was a boxing match on, she was definitely watching it!

Those left to honor her memory include her stepchildren Pam (Shane) Schroeder, Paula Bahena; daughter in law Amanda Reyes; grandchildren Christian Schroeder, Deanna Bahena, Alberto Bahena Jr, Jesus Bahena, and Christian and Emalynn Reyes.

Additionally, she was preceded in death by her son Gary Eugene Misner in 2023.
