Deanna Lee “Danny” (Kauffman) Jarvie, age 81, of Buffalo, formerly of Adin, CA, passed away on February 8, 2023 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10:00 am, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 2618 Boies Avenue, Davenport. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 8:00 am to 9:30 am at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery Buffalo. A luncheon and time of fellowship will be held at the Buffalo Community Center immediately following the committal service. Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Historical Society, or charity of your choice.

Danny was born on June 5, 1941 in Davenport, the third daughter of Everette and Eleanor Kauffman of Buffalo. She attended the Buffalo schools until her senior year, and graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1959. While Danny was living in Davenport, she met and began dating Thearn Jarvie who was attending Palmer College of Chiropractic. On February 4, 1961 they were married in Calvary Lutheran Church in Buffalo. When Thearn graduated from Palmer College, the couple moved to Sacramento, CA, where they set up a Chiropractic practice and Deanna worked as his assistant. From 1961 to 1970 they welcomed four children. In 1988, when the kids were raised, Thearn and Deanna went into semi-retirement and moved to Adin, CA, where they began raising bison. Deanna lived on the ranch until 2011 when Thearn passed away. Even though Deanna had lived in California for over 50 years, she missed her Iowa home and especially her two sisters with whom she was very close. In 2017, she moved back to her hometown of Buffalo permanently and was blessed to be able to reconnect with her high school sweetheart, John Guizar.

Deanna loved playing cards with family, cross stitching, doing handicrafts and visiting the casino with friends and family. She was a member of the Buffalo Historical Society. She was very talented, funny, warm, loving and compassionate. If you met her…you loved her.

Danny is survived by her fiancée, John Guizar; her children, Jackie Jarvie, Leah (Mike) Sandberg, John (Amie) Jarvie, Noah (Jenny) Jarvie; John's sons, Tim Guizar and Kevin Guizar; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen Benjamin, and Kaye LeBeau; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
