David Slyter

David E. Slyter, 79, of Davenport, died November 13, 2021 in Texas while visiting family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2021 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

David’s passion was being a giving father and grandfather. He cherished his children and grandchildren with all his heart. He loved and served the Lord with all his heart. David was a pastor in the children’s ministry at Westside Assembly of God for many years. He saved many souls. He was an amazing husband, father, uncle and friend to all. A doting husband of 47 years, he retired in construction in 2012. Anyone who knew him said he had kind eyes and always spoke softly. His children cherished him with all their love.
