David Dean Ramsey

David Dean Ramsey, 65, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 pm, Friday, August 12, 2022 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm immediately after the visitation.

Please dress casual or wear Iowa Hawkeye colors!! In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family for a fund for his grandchildren’s education. 

David was born on October 31, 1956 in Davenport, a son of James and Shirley (Matson) Ramsey.  He was united in marriage to Carol Engvall on August 25, 1978.  She was the love of his life and he never stopped looking after her and showing her how much he cared.            

David enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughter and grandchildren.  He also found joy in his fishing trips to Wisconsin, playing poker, and going to the casino.  He made many memories with his family on their yearly vacations.  He loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and attended many games with family and friends.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Carol; daughter Shelley Ramsey and fiancé Colt Krana; grandchildren, Amyra and Avery Andino, Jade, Axel and Axton Krana; great grandson on the way; brother James H. (RuthAnn) Ramsey, Jr; sister-in law and brother-in-law Diane (Bob) Delashmutt; sister-in-law Judy (Steve Sasser) Bolton; niece,  Jennifer (Jamie) Hartman; nephews Jeff (Sunshine) Ramsey, Bobby (Heather) DeLashmutt and Dan DeLashmutt.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
