Services to celebrate the life of Daniel R. Levsen, 42, a resident of Davenport will be held Friday, March 2, 2018. The family will greet friends Friday at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport beginning at 2:00 pm and continuing until 3:00 pm. There will be a Masonic Service at 3:00 pm that all are invited to attend. Following Dan’s wishes the rite of cremation will be conducted prior to services.
Dan died unexpectedly of natural causes Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at his residence in Davenport.
Daniel Robert Levsen was born June 21, 1975 in Davenport, a son of, Robert Ono and Cynthia Jean (Ferris) Levsen. He graduated from Davenport Central High School, class of 1994.
He was employed at the Handicapped Development Center, Davenport. He was a parts and packaging engineer; and more recently he was being trained in Data Entry. He also helped his cousin and best friend, William “Will” Cook, with the delivery of the River City Reader.
His memberships include the Roosevelt Masonic Lodge #626, Bettendorf Chapter; past Master; Order of DeMolay; and past Master Councilor Men’s Group. He was also a volunteer for the Genesius Guild.
Dan was proud and protective of his family; he loved his brother and sister with all his heart.
He especially enjoyed watching movies and spending time with his siblings and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Genesius Guild or Handicapped Development Center.
Those left to honor his memory include his brother, David Levsen, a sister, Deborah ”Debbie” Levsen, aunts and uncles, Marcia (Jon) Cook, Jim (Sandy) Levsen, MaryAnne Gunzenhauser, and Vicky Levsen; cousins, including special cousins and best friends, William Jon Cook and Nancy (Ed) Testa-Meyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
