Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Dan B. Micklewright, 89, of Davenport, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. The Mass will be livestreamed by visiting OLV YouTube.com Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. with the rosary prayed at 6:45 p.m. at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Additional visitation Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass will be in the gathering space at church. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Victory.
Dan passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Kahl Home, Davenport.
Dan Bernard Micklewright was born on August 20, 1935, a son of Joseph Ralph and Elma Mary (Endorf) Mickelwright. He graduated from St. Ambrose Academy in 1953. Dan was united in marriage to Carole Ann Mably on May 7, 1960 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Carole preceded him in death on February 15, 2018 following over 57 years of marriage.
Dan worked for 39 years for the Schebler Company as a sheet metal worker, retiring in 1992.
He was greatly devoted to his Catholic faith, attending Mass daily and regularly praying the rosary. He cherished his family and friends and enjoyed playing cards. Dan was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
Those left to honor Dan’s memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Scott (Rosemary) Micklewright, Battle Creek, Michigan; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings: Roberta “Bert” Geheren, Virginia, Celine Quigley and Dottie (Skip) Wiese; a brother-in-law, Phil Bearbower, all of Davenport and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Carole, Dan was preceded in death by an infant son, Kevin, his parents and his siblings: Joe Micklewright, Jr., Myrna Brehmer, Jerry Micklewright, Bonnie Bearbower, Loren Micklewright, and Carol Micklewright. May they rest in peace.
