Cristine Josephine Losasso was born on August 24, 1951 in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of Dr. David A. and Jacqueline Val (Tunnicliff) Losasso. She graduated from Villa de Chantel, Rock Island, and was an art major at Drake University where she was sister of the Alpha Phi sorority. Cris married James J. Wendling on December 6, 1985 at her family home in Davenport. From their union, Cris became the proud mother of Meg and Beth.
In her younger years, Cris worked as a travel agent and was able to travel everywhere in the world; Egypt, France, Italy. In more recent years, she was able to carry on her brother, Dave’s legacy at Mississippi Fine Arts in the Village of East Davenport. Cris was an extremely gifted artist, sharing her gifts with others with her incredible Christmas ornaments, paintings, and needlepointing stockings.
Cris cherished her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed weekly gatherings as a second-generation member of the Monday Night Cocktail group, and also playing mahjong with her mother, sisters, daughters and nieces every Sunday. Cris was a faithful member of the Catholic Service Board, carrying the torch of her mother, Jackie, who was a founding member, and volunteered many hours at Cinderella Cellar. She also was a longtime member of Crow Valley Golf Club.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Meg (Curt) Moreno, Bellevue, Nebraska and Beth (Warren) Rubinoff, Davenport; adoring GiGi of Gavin, Theo, Nina, and Lucy Cristine; sisters: Cathy (Bob) Means, Shaker Heights, Ohio, Marybeth (Mike) Chupka, Davenport, and Gina Takacs, LeClaire; brothers, Anthony (Gail) Losasso, East Moline, Bob (Dena) Losasso, Overland Park, Kansas, Tom (Julie) Losasso, Davenport, Jim (Julie) Losasso, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and Steve (Lisa) Losasso, Bozeman, Montana; sisters-in-law, Cyndy Losasso and Anne Losasso, both of Davenport, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Dave and Greg Losasso and father-in-law and mother-in-law, JD and Mardy Wendling. May they rest in peace.
