Corinne Paaske

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Corinne A. Paaske, 89, of Rock Island, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Visitation will be from 10am until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Due to the current health crisis, masks must be worn and social distancing respected. The service will be livestreamed by visiting Corinne’s obituary at www.hmdfuneralhome.com. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo, Illinois.  Corinne passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus. Memorials may be made to Church of Peace UCC, Rock Island, or either the Rock Island or Henry County Genealogical Societies.

The former Corinne A. Emery was born July 9, 1931, in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Marion and Frances (Hamilton) Emery.  She was a 1949 graduate of Rock Island High School and was then employed by Royal Neighbors of America until 1951, when she was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island.  She retired in January 1988 with 31 years of service.

She was a member of the Church of Peace, Rock Island, and the Filiae Pacis Circle of the church.  She enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, and exploring family history.  She especially enjoyed time spent with her family.  She was blessed with great wit and a dry sense of humor.  Her family and friends will miss her very much.

Corinne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Mark Miller, Davenport; grandsons Elliot Miller and Colin Miller, both of Davenport; and Ian Miller, St. Louis, MO; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Eric Eckerstrom, California; and nephew, Bridge Beardslee, California.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew, Jonathan.
