Clair A. Ridenour

Clair Allen Ridenour, 89, of Davenport, died Sunday, December 29, 2024 at his home with his loving wife by his side.

Funeral services to celebrate Clair’s life will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2025 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Living Lands and Waters. 

Clair Allen Ridenour was born on June 27, 1935 in Deep River, Iowa, a son of Newell and Helen (Moode) Ridenour. He retired as an outside maintenance/cable supervisor from Northwest Bell following 32 years of service and then from Tri-City Electric as a member of the IBEW Local 145.

Clair was united in marriage to Nancy S. (Manning) Richards on November 24, 1995 in Davenport. 

Clair was Mr. Fix-it, he had a tremendous work ethic and would lend a hand to anyone in need. He loved the outdoors, especially while watching the birds at his feeders, fishing, camping, boating, and hunting. He was past-president of the Bi-State Bass Club. Clair was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Nancy, Davenport; his children: Teri Beard and children: Jamie and Jenn; Rick (Debbie Montegna) Ridenour and children:Jason, Lyndsey, Chelsey, and Ricky; Ed Woods and son, Jesse, Chris Ridenour, Gary (Jeanne) Richards, and their sons, Bobby and Danny, and Amber (Todd) Ehrecke and children Parker and Avalon; a brother and sister-in-law, Lynn (Kate) Ridenour; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Manning.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Edward and Richard Ridenour.
