Christopher Leo Joseph Moraetes

Christopher Moraetes, 42, of Minneapolis, and formerly of Davenport, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 at his home. Visitation will be 4-7pm Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, with a Rosary at 6:30pm.  Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11am on Tuesday at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.  Those wishing to attend should meet at the funeral home by 10:30am.  Memorials may be made to the VFW or the LULAC Club.

Christopher Leo Joseph Moraetes was born August 20, 1980, in Davenport, a son of George and Rebecca (nee Bernal) Moraetes. 

He was a veteran of the Air Force and was a fan of the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears.  He was the life of the party, and his dimpled smile will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor his memory include his mother Becky (Pat) Konrad of Apache Junction, AZ; father George (Genet) Moraetes of Davenport; brothers Michael (Kimberly) Moraetes of Elgin, IL, and James Moraetes of Davenport; maternal grandfather Ernest Rodriguez; niece Kirsten; and nephews Zachary, Gabe, Anthony, and Nicholas.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Leo Joseph Bernal, Juanita Rodriguez, paternal grandparents Chris and Betty Moraetes, and several aunts and uncles.
