Christine J. Fisher, 37, a resident of Bettendorf, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 11am until 1pm Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. Due to the current health crisis, masks must be worn and social distancing respected. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Matherville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to her family.
Christine Jacquelyn Fisher was born March 12, 1983 in Davenport, daughter of Annette (Barnes Fisher) Hoeft. She participated in day services at the Handicapped Development Center and was a member of New Choices. Christine participated in 4-H and competed yearly in the Special Olympics. She was known for a giving heart and a friend to everyone expressing unconditional love to those she met. Christine was an avid mystery book reader and enjoyed the challenge of computer games. She never let her disabilities get in the way of her quest for life.
Those left to honor Christine’s memory include her mother, Annette (Mark) Hoeft, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; stepbrothers, Josh Hoeft, Chicago, Illinois, Nicholas Hoeft, Tallahassee, Florida; (aunts and uncles: Chris (Deb) Barnes, Aledo, Illinois; Mike (Susan) Barnes, Aloha, Oregon; Pat (Carolyn) Barnes, Palmyra, Missouri; Susan (Steve) Kolb, Joppa, Alabama; Theresa (Jerry) Shinners, Davenport, Iowa; and grandmother, Shirley Barnes, Rock Island, Illinois. Also New Choices care provider and friend, Erica Pegues; and special friends David Nolting and Matt Baeder.
