Cathy Jean Cruse

Cathy Jean Cruse, 64, a resident of Davenport, died Monday, March 28, 2022 at OSF Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Cathy was born February 2, 1958 in Parsons, Kansas, the daughter of Wilbur and Ruth (Slane) Cruse.

Cathy worked as a process server for HSPS Legal Services. She previously worked as a CNA and operated her own personal daycare for several years. To this day, many of the daycare children that are now adults still looked to her as a mother figure and for spiritual guidance.  She adored all of her grandchildren and cherished spending time with them. Cathy was a farm girl at heart and loved horses. She was a woman of God, and a powerful prayer warrior for many loved ones, friends and others in need. A few of her many favorite scriptures were Psalms 23, 91, Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. 

She enjoyed being in her yard, gardening, cooking, animals, and arts and crafts.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Henry McAden, Heather (Anton) Taylor, Brooke McAden, and Candace McAden, all of Davenport; grandchildren, Shakayla, Chantavia, Ramire, Araya, Brooklynn, Freddie, Anton “JuJu”, Kaedyn, Liberty, Logan, Leland, and Lyrical; great-granddaughter, Rhylee; and siblings, Ronald Shearer, Vicki Capstaff, and Eric Shearer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Richard Shearer; and brother, Timothy Shearer.
