C. Joseph "Joey" Cronkleton

C. Joseph “Joey” Cronkleton, II, 70, of Donahue passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at his home.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 27, 2023 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Long Grove.  Visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of service at the church.  Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Long Grove. Memorials may be made to the Donahue Fire Department, Donahue Sportman’s Club or to the church.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries is assisting the family with arrangements.

Joey was born on January 16, 1953, son of Carol Joseph “Joe” Cronkleton and Mary Louise (Ream) Cronkleton.  He married the love of his life, Pam Oliver on May 14, 1976, and together they had two children. 

Joe was a 47 year member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 387 and was initiated in May of 1975.  Before Local 387 merged with Local 25 in 1998 Joe served in many different capacities; such as member of the E-board and the Negotiations committee.  He retired with 35 years in the trade on April 1, 2009.  He enjoyed spending time at the family garage, H&J.  He was often mistaken as Santa Clause and played the part magnificently.  Above all he loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.  He loved to watch them have fun with the many 'toys' he had for them. He will be deeply missed. 

He is survived by his wife, Pam; daughter Nicole (Hashim) Bilal; son Chad (Trista) Cronkleton; grandchildren Chase, Iris, and Izaiah Bilal and Corbin Cronkleton; siblings Jeff (Kelly) Cronkleton, Jon (Sally) Cronkleton and Cindy (Bob) Johnson; Aunt Jane Cronkleton and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
