Carol Fennelly

Carol Fennelly, 85, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. 

Funeral services will be 11a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  The service will be livestreamed by clicking the link that will appear below around 10:45 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Handicapped Development Center, Davenport Junior Theatre, or Genesis Hospice.

Carol Marie Dreier was born on January 26, 1937 to Dorothy and Henry Dreier.  She married Bill Fennelly on June 16, 1956.  He preceded her in death on December 11, 2019.

Carol was a loving wife, grandma, great-grandma, and friend. She adored and lived for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Her and Bill had an open-door policy at their home and loved all the daily visits from her kids.  Carol had a great love of shopping – always looking for the next great deal and ways to spoil her grandkids.

Carol is survived by her four children: Bill (Deb) of Ames, Pat (Kelley), Mike (Ann) and Kelly (Dave) Coiner, all of Davenport; niece, Kathy (Gene) Schwarz; grandchildren: Megan (Mike) Rieck, Billy (Lyndsey), Michelle (Nick) Gibbs, Steven (Andrea), Tyler (Stefanie) Coiner, Trevor, Jake (Abbey), Zachary Coiner, Kate (Gabe) Lorack, Aly (Hunter) Grenier, Luke, and Liz; great-grandchildren: Nolan, Hayden, Tanner, Will, Camden, Callie, Kemper, Chandler, and Forrest; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin (Rose), Rose, Esther, Larry, and Josie Fennelly.

In addition to her husband, Bill, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Elaine Sweeney, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: John, Richard, Jim Fennelly, Mary Lauer, Katie Strandlund, Anna Mae Fennelly, Peggy Kinsella, Patricia "Tootie" Fennelly, Rita Wiegand, and Tom Fennelly. May they rest in peace.

The Fennelly family would like to thank their friend/physician Myra Daniel, caretakers Tree and Dee, and friend Glady for all the compassionate care and support given to Carol.
