Funeral services to celebrate the life of Carl F. Mayfield, 58, of Davenport, will be 1p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will be 12 p.m. until 1p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Carl died Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
Carl Franklin Mayfield was born on March 11, 1960 in Hannibal, Missouri, a son of James O D and Opal (Day) Mayfield. He worked for many years as a laborer in the Quad Cities including 17 years at Rich Metals, Davenport.
He was united in marriage to Toni Holcomb on December 4, 2009 in Davenport.
Carl enjoyed watching westerns and football, especially the Seattle Seahawks. He also enjoyed fishing, a good cold beer and fried potatoes! Most importantly he enjoyed all of the time his family was together.
Survivors include his wife, Toni, Davenport, children, “Little” Carl (Alexis Miller) Brown, Kewanee, Robert Brown, Kayla (Steven Lovedy) Holcomb, Michael (Alicia Long) Mayfield, all of Davenport, grandchildren: Kylie Lovedy and DaMiere Brown; siblings: Frances White, Sally White, Ben White, Carolyn White, Kathy (Bill James) Troy, Sandra (Orville) Minter, all of Monroe City, Missouri, Raymond (Edna) White, Keokuk, Iowa, Charles White, Hannibal, Missouri, James (Carolyn) White, Quincy, Illinois, J.D. Mayfield, Clyde (Julie Martens) Mayfield, Gary (Diane) Mayfield, Keith Mayfield, all of Davenport; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Kim Holcomb, a sister-in-law, Carrie Holcomb, all of Davenport, and many niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Edna Hanson, Brenda Pruitt, and Jenna White.
