Brenda Petersen

October 26, 1960 — December 5, 2020

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Brenda L. Petersen, 60, a resident of Davenport, will be Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11am - 4pm at the LULAC Club in Davenport.  Due to the current health crisis, masks must be worn and social distancing respected.  Private burial was at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Brenda passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at her sister’s home in Davenport.

Brenda Lee Groves was born October 26, 1960 in Davenport, a daughter of Oren and Shirley (Woods) Groves.  She married Barry Petersen; he preceded her in death.  Brenda worked at Oscar Mayer and Ace Hardware.  She enjoyed motorcycle riding, playing cards, spending time with family, fishing, listening to music, dancing, fish fries and spending time with her best friend, Carol.

Those left to honor Brenda’s memory include her children:  Heather (Jeremy) Begle, Davenport and Audrea Barker, Iowa City; grandchildren:  Ashley Renee Barker, Lily Bates, Parker Bates and Jonah Paulsen; siblings:  Pamela Haussmann, Christine (Jim) Hendricksen and Shirley (Ernest) Carr; and friend, Harold “Hippi” Daniels, Davenport; nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Barry and brother, Randy Groves.
