Brenda Kay Grassle

August 6, 1956 — December 14, 2024

Brenda Kay Grassle, 68, of Davenport, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 14, 2024 in Davenport.

A private family service will be held.

Brenda was born on August 6, 1956 In Aledo, Illinois, daughter of Bill and Bea (Henderson) Leng. She was united in marriage to Douglas Grassle on June 14, 1980.

Brenda enjoyed to read, especially the newspaper. She attended schools in Aledo, Monmouth and graduated from AlWood in 1974, then attended AIC for 2 years. She worked many jobs but most recently New Choices where she loved the staff and clients she met during her time with them. She was the type of person that would help others more than she helped herself and was often called “Frenda”. She enjoyed listening to any Iowa Hawkeye sporting event and could talk about it for hours. To say she loved her radio would be an understatement. She could often be found listening to her talk shows and talk radio. Brenda was also a big Republican Party supporter and was very proud to have been able to vote in the last election. She also attended Adventure Church. Above all she loved her grandchildren and never stopped asking about them.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband Douglas Grassle; her children Gina (TJ) Sheedy and Zach (Jenny) Grassle; grandchildren Priest Sheedy, Cade Sheedy, Ellie Grassle, Claire Grassle, Drew Sheedy, Jett Sheedy and Lyla Grassle; siblings Bill Leng, Monte Leng, Annette McKey and Matt Leng, and dear friend Diane Samberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses, doctors, aids and staff who helped take care of Brenda over the past two years.
