Brad died unexpectedly, Monday, November 11, 2024 in Davenport. He selflessly was an organ donor to help others in need.

Brad Allen Guy was born on November 11, 1978 in Davenport, a son of Sharon Kay (Wulf) and Daniel J. Guy. He graduated from Davenport West High School in 1997 and attended Iowa State University. He was united in marriage to Polly M. Bailey on August 10, 2002 in Davenport. They have shared over 27 years of adventures together.

Brad’s great work ethic started young while working on the Petersen’s dairy farm west of town. In high school, Brad worked at West Kimberly Hy-Vee where he met Polly and later for TruGreen Chemlawn in Colorado for a few years before transferring with the company back to Davenport in 2005. In 2006 Brad joined the city of davenport as a laborer and was quickly promoted through the ranks to a project manager. He loved his hometown and enjoyed playing a part in making it a better place to live.

Brad was a rock for his family, the "grown up" in every situation. He was an amazing husband and a proud girl dad. He loved to follow Ava's dance and Lily's gymnastics and his love and support was also shared with his girl's closest friends. Their home was always open and full of love. Brad was a great cook, never following the recipe but always making it taste perfect. He was funny, quick witted and a smart ass, a trait that he inherited from his parents, which one is still up for debate. He laughed easy and often and made others laugh around him. As a child, he enjoyed running wild and building forts in the corn crib with his cousins and siblings on his Grandparents’ farm west of Blue Grass. Brad was a respectful, helpful and loving son and a best friend to many, including his brothers and sister.

Brad had an eclectic taste in music and attending concerts with Polly were a passion for them both. He also enjoyed ice fishing with buddies in Northern Iowa and helping people, many of whom have reached out since his passing. Brad was f**king amazing and will be missed by all who knew and loved him!

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Polly; daughters, Ava and Lily; parents: Sharon Wulf and Dan (Kristi) Guy, all of Davenport; siblings: Jeramie (Liz) Guy, Canton, Illinois, Brooke Guy, and Matthew (Emily) Guy, all of Davenport; nieces and nephews: Olivia, Amelia, George, Freddy, and Maggie; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jody and Mark Bailey; brother-in-law, Sam Bailey, grandma-in-law, Dolores Bailey, and many numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Shirley Wulf and Ephren and Shirley Guy.
