Beverly Steward

Funeral Services for Beverly L. Steward, 70, a resident of Davenport, will be 10am Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Mt. Sinai Fellowship, 4706 Northwest Blvd., Davenport.  The family will greet friends from 9-10am Saturday at church.  Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.  Due to the pandemic, masks must be worn and social distance maintained.  Beverly passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at her home.  Memorials may be made to the family or to Mt. Sinai COGIC.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Beverly Louise Clay was born May 13, 1950 in Davenport, a daughter of Mark and Blanche (Claypool) Clay, Jr. Beverly worked at Brammer Manufacturing for 25 years, until it closed in 1998.  She was a daycare provider after her retirement.

Beverly had a big, giving heart.  She loved Suduko, baseball, volleyball, westerns, family activities and was the Usher President at church.

Those left to honor Beverly’s memory include her children:  Rashaad Rochelle (Faith) Steward, Mitchellville, Maryland; Justin Steward and Ercie Steward, both of Davenport; grandchild, Riann Livingston; mother, Blanche Clay, Davenport; siblings:  Thomas  Clay; Craig (Carol) Clay; Steven (Sheryl) Clay; Eric (Shaune) Johnson; Ercie Clay-Gooding, Rock Island; JoAnn (Marvin) Tatum, Milwaukee; Sandra (Roger) Smith, Davenport; Janet Harris, Davenport; Marsha (Tim) Morgan, Austin, Texas; Kathleen (Roy) Horton, Davenport; Audrey Lynn Clay, Davenport; Sharon (Charles) Bland, Austin, Texas; Christine Clay, Rock Island, and Lorri Clay, Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Clay, Jr. and brother Mark Clay, III.
