Beverly A. Dowell, 71, of Davenport, died Friday, November 27, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.  Private family services will take place with burial in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Beverly Ann Nielsen was born on May 22, 1949 in Oakland, California, a daughter of Albert Ceno and Charlotte “Toni” Nielsen.  She was united in marriage to Michael Dowell on November 28, 1970 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Davenport.  He preceded her in death on June 19, 2013.

Beverly worked for many years as a LPN at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, retiring around 2005.

Her life revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was warm and welcoming to all who were around, if she met you, you were part of her family. She enjoyed John Wayne, Jeopardy, and Louis L’Amour books.

Survivors include her children: Madilynn Dowell, Mark (Angelique) Dowell, Christopher Dowell, Carrie (Roger) McCoy and Stephanie Hutchens; grandchildren: Amanda, Victoria, Cassie, Katie, Dustin, Tyler, Kendra, Megan, Brian, Colin, and Kiera; great-grandchildren: Luke and Iris; “special grands:” Laura, Adam, Missy, John, Shawn, Rick, Austin, Shelby, Brendan, George and William.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by children: Heather Brianne, Luke, and John, her parents, and a brother, Craig Nielsen.
