Benjamin Stanley

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Benjamin Patrick Stanley, 18, a resident of Foxfield, Colorado will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 N. Main Street, Davenport.  Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home. Please wear your Hawkeye gear to honor Ben.

Ben passed away peacefully November 5, 2023 at home.

Ben was born on February 28, 2005 at the University Of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.  He graduated in May of 2023 from Grandview High School.  Ben was working for Weifield Electrical Contracting.  He was working as a first period apprentice.  He enjoyed learning things and buying tools for his tool bag. 

Ben was well loved by his parents and liked to travel with them.  His favorite places were Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, Florida and of course Iowa.  He played tackle football since he was 10.  From that he developed a love of fitness and enjoyed working out as often as he could.  He loved sports, gaming, driving his car and hanging with his friends who he loved so much.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents: Todd and Kelly Stanley, Foxfield, Colorado.  Grandmother Patricia Steiger, Bettendorf, Iowa. Uncle Max Stanley, Aunt Sue Stanley of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. (Cousins Brenna, Anthony, Burke and Bridget) Uncle Dan Steiger, Aunt Ginger Steiger of Butler, Tennessee )Danielle, Ron, Danika, James, Daniel, Ryan, Brad and Angela) Aunt Mary Sammon (Cousins Jimmy, Ashley, Emerson, Brayden, Mikayla, Hailey, Daxton, Kinsleigh, Lara, Peyton and Beckham ) Uncle Kirk Sausman, Aunt Mary Sausman of Lehigh Acres, Florida (Cousins Melissa, Matt, Julian, Ella, Charlotte, E’owyin, Jacob, Damien and Tyreal) and many Great Aunts and Uncles and other extended family and friends. 

He is preceded in death Grandfather Jim Steiger.  Grandfather, Ron Sausman.  Grandmother, Sharon Austin and Uncle Jamie Steiger.

In Lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made in Benjamin’s name to University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
