Anthony was born in Chicago, IL on April 10th, 1940. He was the son of Anthony and Veronica (Grygiel) Zimanek. At the age of 9 he moved to Sobieski, WI with his parents and his brother Ray. They moved into his maternal grandparent’s farm. On the farm was where he showed his appreciation for conservation. He helped to plant over 4,000 pine trees on the family farm.

Anthony attended Pulaski High School and graduated in 1958. He then went on to attend the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He graduated with a Bachelor degree in Agricultural Science and business. After graduation he began working for Oscar Mayer, where he supervised for 33 ½ years.

Anthony married Barbara Jarmolowicz in 1961 and always said that she was the greatest blessing in his life.

He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister, usher, board of education, and helped serve meals to the hungry.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife. He enjoyed hunting and was passionate about fishing locally and several excursions to Canada. He enjoyed his Pinochle games with family and friends along with the “occasional” Poker game. He loved telling corny jokes, just to get people to laugh. He really enjoyed his second career at Wal-Mart, where he worked for 20 years and made many friends.

Anthony loved his family so very much; they were his pride and joy.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Scott (Cheryl) Zimanek of Davenport, IA. Todd (Susie) Zimanek of Sherrard, IL and Brad (Jill) Zimanek of Panama City Beach, FL. There are 6 grandchildren (Stephanie, Chris, Lindsey (Eric) Allen, Jacob, Ayla (Rob) Goggin, Anton (Kayla) & 4 great-grandchildren (Mason, Palmer, Delaney, & Xander) He has a brother Ray (Mary) of Shawano, WI.
