Ms. Walatka passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at St. Joseph Hospital, Tampa, FL.
Alison was born May 24, 1980, in Davenport to Thomas and Michele (Miller) Walatka. Following her graduation from La’ James and Scott Community Colleges, she opened Brush Nail Salon and Spray Tanning Studio in Davenport. She loved doing her clients nails and made countless friendships throughout her career.
She believed in God, and touched many people’s lives, putting her faith into practice by accepting others for who they were, and giving generously to others, even at the time of her passing. As a final act of generosity, she was able to help several other families through the gift of organ and tissue donation. As a natural giver Christmas was her favorite holiday.
Alison lit up the room every time she walked in. Her greatest pleasures in life were making memories with her daughters. She loved to travel with her friends and family, especially to the beach, and had recently moved to Florida with her daughter Isabella and her BFF Jen July to be closer to it. She was a “foodie” and loved to try different restaurants with her friends and family.
Those left to honor her memory include daughters Janae (Markhus Taylor) Caruthers of Davenport, Isabella Westerfield of Riverview; mother Michele (John) Tuthill of DeWitt; father Thomas Walatka of Davenport; brothers Adam (Kristin) Curlott of Davenport, Brian (Maria) Curlott of West Des Moines, IA, and Jeffrey (Emily Teel) Curlott of Davenport, step brothers Nick Tuthill of Moscow, IA, William (Kassi) Tuthill of Ely, IA; fourteen nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles; her BFF Jen July of Riverview; and her dog “Coco”.
She was preceded in death by her bonus mom Sue Walatka.
