Alice Lynch

Alice M. Lynch, age 98, of Davenport, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Bettendorf Healthcare. Private services will be held at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home.

   Alice was born on October 8, 1924, in Davenport to Ellsworth and Hertha (Jansen) Alfred. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1941, and then from Marycrest College. Alice was a veteran having served with the U.S. Army during WW II. After discharge, she worked for over 30 years as a computer specialist at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1982.

   Alice was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Davenport American Legion, Post 26, and the VFW Auxilary Post 828.

   Survivors include her children, Shela Lassen, and Michael Lynch; and a granddaughter, Lily Lassen.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by sisters, Avis Witt and Shirley Lease; and brothers, Elmer Alfred, Edward Alfred, and Eldon Alfred.
