Adell Douglas

Adell S. Douglas, 91, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully with loving family by her side Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

Adell was born March 11, 1930 in Evergreen, Alabama to Alonzo Simmons and Anner James Simmons.

She married W. L. Douglas in 1956.

Adell leaves precious memories of a life well lived to her son Joe D. Faison, Jr.(Margaret) of Davenport, Iowa. Four grandchildren, Joshalind Faison, Joe D. Faison, III (Rosa), Camille Hodges (Dwayne), Megan Villinis, (Thomas) all of Davenport, and one step granddaughter, Georgia Roth (Matthew) of Plantation, Florida. Twelve great grandchildren, one step great grandson, two great-great grandchildren. One sister, Maudeste Body of Pensacola, Florida. Her former husband, Joe D. Faison, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and granddaughter, Carla Tatum.

Adell retired after 30 + years as a CNA at the Kahl Nursing home in 2002. She also worked part time many years at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

Adell loved reading her bible and witnessing to people. The life she lived was a shining example of the love of Christ in Action!!! Adell enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping, going out to eat, and making people happy. She always made others feel loved and appreciated.

The family is being served by Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. She will be buried at Pine Hill Cemetery. A memorial service for immediate family will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 at 1:30 pm at the Pine Hill Chapel.
