A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Donald G. “Rebel” Lindsey, 78, a resident of Davenport, will be 12 Noon, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. The family will greet friends from 11:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Rebel passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center, W. Central Park Avenue, Davenport.
Donald Gene Lindsey was born January 23, 1940 in Cullman, Alabama, a son of Jasper D. “JD” and Ovella (Gordon) Lindsey. He married Dorothy Minick August 25, 1985. They celebrated 33 years of marriage.
Rebel was a Large Press Operator with Sears Manufacturing, retiring in 2005 after 34 years of service. He was a CB radio addict, enjoying his many friends all over the country. His handle was Rebel! He even met his wife over the CB!
Memorials may be made to his family.
Rebel is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lindsey, daughter, Tonya Minick, Rock Island; grandsons, Brandon (Ashleigh) Minick, Cedar Rapids, and Scott (Jordan) Tuman, Martinburg, W. Virginia; 3 great-grandchildren; Austin, Gunner and Spencer; sisters, Linda Rose, Davenport, Faye Coker, Waterloo and Annie Hamilton, Las Vegas, Nevada and sister-in-law, Pat Staggs, Ellisville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Sheila L. Lindsey, great-granddaughter, Audrey Rae Tuman, brothers Roy and Roger Lindsey.
